My name is Will Clement, and I’ve been the proud owner of two fantastic goldens for the past six years: Yeager, and Huxley.
When we were growing up, my family had two different breeds of dogs, but neither were goldens.
I loved those family pets to bits and pieces, but they had vastly different temperaments and habits than golden retrievers.
When I found Yeager, he was up for adoption through a newspaper out of Los Angeles. I drove four-and-a-half hours to get him, and it’s one of the best decisions of my life.
Huxley was actually owned by a friend, but they couldn’t take him when they moved from the US to Italy, so I’ve been his happy owner ever since.
But here’s the thing—I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.
Golden retrievers are one of the most sought-after breeds of dogs (and on this site, you’ll learn why that is), but I just wasn’t in my element.
Now that I’ve taken the time and got to know every little picadillo about these two golden fuzz balls, I’m ready to share that information with everyone else.
If you’re becoming a golden retriever owner for the first time, then I have news for you—it’s going to be a fun ride.
